Soft cover photo portfolio book printed in full page single sided collotype plates with images by prominent photographers of that era including Shimamura Hoko and Fuchigami Hakuyo. The paper the collotypes are printed on include smooth white, heavy textured and peach colored paper stocks. Ingashu Yushu was published by the photographic supply company Asanuma Shokai, one of the largest photographic retailers and publisher of photo books and journals during the Meiji and Taisho eras. The publisher of this edition is Naoaki Furumiya and editor if Kadota Kichisaburo. The only text included is the index page which lists 37 images printed on 36 collotype plates, and tissue guards that give the image title, photographer’s name and city of residence.
Condition: Plate #11 is absent, while the tissue guard pages to plates #6, #13 and #17 are missing. The cover has some light stains but is fully intact. Plate #12 once removed is creased and soiled and has been re-inserted. Another eleven plates have light foxing in a few places.
